Project Description

The Honolulu Rail Transit Project is a 20-mile elevated rail line that connects West O`ahu beginning at East Kawith downtown Honolulu and Ala Moana Center. It provides residents with a fast, reliable and affordable transportation alternative. All 21 stations are fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) having high-level platforms (same level as the vehicle floor) stairs, escalators and elevators featured at each station.

Our Role

McNary Bergeron & Associates provided construction engineering support to the contractor including:
  • Independent design review of the precast span-by-span (SBS) and cast-in-place (CIP) balanced cantilever structures.
  • Geometry control and monitoring for the CIP balanced cantilever structure.
  • Analysis and review of the SBS construction loads.
  • Design of temporary supports for construction of the CIP balanced cantilever structure.
  • Independent review of the CIP balanced cantilever form travelers
