Project Description

The new NB and SB Buck O’Neil bridges, featuring steel girders nearly 13 feet deep and main spans of 455 feet, have replaced the original John Jordan “Buck” O’Neil Memorial Bridge—a triple arch bridge constructed in 1956. These bridges now facilitate traffic flow on US Highway 169 over the Missouri River, providing vital connections between downtown Kansas City and the communities situated north of the river.

Our Role

MBJ provided construction engineering services to Massman-Clarkson JV. This included steel girder analysis for the main spans and approach spans, erection procedures, and temporary shoring tower designs.
