Bridges to Prosperity, El Rodeo

El Rodeo, Nicaragua

Project Description

Volunteers from Flatiron, Turner construction and McNary Bergeron joined local villagers to construct a 50-meter suspension bridge in El Rodeo, Nicaragua, a remote, rural community of approximately 1,000 residents. Prior to construction of the bridge, villagers hiked three to five hours to safely cross the river, which is impassible during the rainy season.

Our Role

Mike Jennings and Thomas Bang of McNary Bergeron were on site for the construction of superstructure of the El Rodeo Project. The bridge also used details from the typical Bridges to Prosperity Suspension Bridge designs that were developed with help from McNary Bergeron's Jeremy Johannesen.
