South Link Extension

Project Description

The South Link Extension is an elevated dual track light rail guideway connecting SEATAC Airport with Angle Lake Station, 1.6 miles to the south. The guideway consists of precast segmental balanced cantilever and span-by-span bridges. The longest span is 363ft.

Our Role

McNary Bergeron was hired to provide construction engineering services including independent design checks of the balanced cantilever and simple span bridges, a review of the DEAL L81 launching gantry, as well as falsework design related to the launching gantry.

Construction Method and Specifications

The two precast segmental balanced cantilever bridges were erected by crane while the remaining span-by-span bridges were erected with DEAL's L81 launching gantry.
