Project Description
The I-4/Lee Roy Selmon Expressway Interchange is a new north-south toll road, which connects Interstate 4 with the Selmon Expressway in Tampa, Florida. This elevated roadway links these two major east-west corridors and significantly improves the movement of people and goods. The new roadway also provides exclusive truck lanes for direct access to the Port of Tampa and removes heavy truck traffic from local roads in Ybor City, one of only two National Historic Districts in Florida.

Our Role
McNary Bergeron & Associates was a sub-consultant to the contractor's construction engineer, Corven Engineering. Our services for the project included:
- Longitudinal construction analysis of 12 precast segmental span-by-span bridge units, including phased construction stress checks and camber calculations,
- Loadpath checks for span-by-span construction,
- Independent check of the span-by-span erection gantry retrofitted by DEAL,
- Design of temporary works and stability towers for balanced cantilever bridges.
