Project Description

The Honolulu Rail Transit Project is a 5 mile phase of HART's plan to build 20 miles of light rail running from Kapole to the Ala Moana Center. This phase starts at Aloha Stadium, passes through Pearl Harbor and Honolulu International Airport stations, and ends at the Middle St. Transit Center. It includes over 200 spans of precast segmental concrete, erected with conventional and articulating overhead gantries.

Our Role

McNary Bergeron is providing construction engineering services for an aerial guideway that has over 200 spans. The guideway is built using a conventional overhead gantry that can accommodate a 150' span at a 1000' radius and an articulating gantry that can erect a 150' span at an extremely tight 400' radius. Engineering services include segment erection manuals, geometry control, falsework, independent review of equipment, and engineering support during design and construction.
