Project Description

The 880-foot long flyover ramp is part of a new interchange alignment between I-35, I-94, and State Route 65 just south of downtown Minneapolis. The ramp has 5 spans, each roughly 180 feet long and a tight radius of 340 feet. At one location, the flyover deck level it approximately 56 feet above I-94 and 30 feet above the Route 65 bridge over I-94.

Our Role

McNary Bergeron & Associates provided erection analysis and procedures for the horizontal curved steel girder superstructure. Our scope of work also included temporary works designs including falsework bents, temporary tie downs, bracing, and bearing restraints. As part of the procedures, we completed a lifting analysis for each of the girder sections as well as a crane pick plan and rigging design.
