Bridges to Prosperity McNary Bergeron

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS: CHRISTINA RIVER BRIDGE

The Christina River Bridge is a new river crossing in downtown Wilmington that is part of a Waterfront revitilization project. The three span bridge is the first spliced concrete girder superstructure constructed in Delaware. The bridge is supported on precast concrete piles and a cast-in-place substructure.

Our Role

McNary Bergeron performed construction engineering including a crane access trestle and precast soffits for the river pier footings. For the superstructure, McB provided erection procedures, temporary works designs, as well as a rigging design for the girder segments.
